    THE PHILADELPHIA STORY

Cost:  $24 in advance — $29 at the door

In 1939 Phillip Barry wrote this romantic comedy with Katharine Hepburn in mind. She was so in love with the play she not only starred in the Broadway production, she backed it with personal money and would go onto star in the Oscar winning film that revitalized her career!

This hilarious comedy centers on Tracy Lord, a beautiful socialite, whose wedding plans are complicated by the arrival of her ex-husband and a very attractive and nosy journalist. Before long Tracy is juggling three men, a wedding and more than a few questions! One of Broadway’s and Hollywood’s greatest romantic comedies, the movie starred Jimmy Stewart and Cary Grant along with Hepburn. This timeless classic is never done locally and the Legacy Theatre is proud to be the first theatre in decades to present this comedic masterpiece. A must see night of theatre history.
